Bert Scholten plays abstract pop with a playful punk attitude. Using a drumsynth, keyboards and his self built mallet synthesizer to create severe warm basses, synthy vibraphones and percussive muddy flutterings on hi-res drumbeats. The catchy songs have the same accurate aesthetic as Scholten's animations, posters, drawings and books. Bert Scholten is part of the OWSUM art/concert-collective, runs Lekker Kut Platenmaatschappij and plays in many bands.
