Performer-composer-Dj Lucas Alvarado possesses an atypical background.
He is constantly developing several projects contrasting electronic music, early music and crossing-over.
Specialized in old bowed string instruments. He plays viola da gamba, vihuela de arco and violone in early music ensembles. Member of the ensemble La Quinta Pars, dedicated to the instrumental music of the XVI century.
As a composer he combines a range of sounds ranging from electroacoustics, soundscape to instrumental music, he develops solo projects, with other musicians of different styles, as well as mixing other artistic disciplines. Lucas has been deeply inspired by the invisible world and the cosmos, using these influences as the foundation of his creative process. He creates his own musical language and produces a sonic result characterized as peaceful, mysterious and exciting.
Since 2017 he holds a strong activity as DJ, mixing a big range of world music, especially the music of Latin America and his homeland with new electronic influences. Member of Maracuyá Lab. he’s creating new styles under the name Huemul, and other more experimental Dj sets who combine styles from minimal, ambient, noise and dark-techno. Positioning itself as a major dj on this unique style in Lyon and France. He has also performed as Dj in the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal and Latvia.
Since 2013, he is a member and co-founder of the Eunk collective, which produces and promotes experimental music and free improvisation in Chile and abroad.
Dyrgaist is his most enigmatic and darkest musical project, mixing mystical symbols, astral experiences and dreamlike landscapes in sounds that serve as portals to other worlds, his musical productions have been published through the label Sombres Soniks and Vnvs Mvndvs.
Innassaah is an experimental duo with Carla Genchi, an Italian singer based in the Netherlands, who mixes electronic, voice and improvisation, inspired by dark and occultist literature. In 2017, they released their first EP. They have performed in France, Portugal, the Netherlands and Germany.
In 2018, he published his first EP titled «Un Modo De Describir El Mundo» on the Chilean label VA Music, and a digital album entitled «Anatomía de la Vacuidad» on the German label Attenuation Circuit.
Lucas holds a viola da gamba master degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Music and Dance of Lyon. And an Erasmus at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater «Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy» in Leipzig.
Nowadays he’s working as resident artist for Noods radio, on music for a future film and setting up a 2 years interdisciplinary project at the CNSMD Lyon, inspired by alchemy texts, combining the Ars Subtilior music and the new medias.
In the last days Lucas released a big set of unpublished electronic and ambient works available on Vnvs Mvndvs..
